Box Score SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – The Notre Dame Falcons lost another tightly contested battle at Murphy Gymnasium on Friday evening, as they fell in five sets to Ursuline.
The loss for the Falcons (2-23) was their eighth at home, while the victory for Ursuline was their second over the Falcons this season, and their second on the road overall.
Ursuline took the opening set, 25-17, but the Falcons rallied and took the next two sets, 25-20 and 25-23. Notre Dame was close to pulling it out in the fourth set, but the Arrows hung on for a 25-23 victory, and outlasted NDC in extra time in the final set with 16-14 victory.
Lindsay Shirilla led Notre Dame offensively with 19 kills to go along with eight digs.
Tawny Flareau had a team high 20 assists and added eight digs, while
Shelby Regiec added 14 assists.
Kristen Hill led Notre Dame with 20 digs on the night, while
Tawnia Almaraz added 17.
Notre Dame is in action again on Saturday, Nov. 7, when they return to Mountain East Conference play, as they square off against Wheeling Jesuit (WV) at Murphy Gymnasium. The contest will begin at 1 p.m.
