Box Score SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – The Notre Dame Falcons won for the second time at home this season, as they defeated Glenville State in three sets at Murphy Gymnasium on Friday night.
The victory for the Falcons (3-25, 2-13 MEC) was their first since defeating West Virginia State on the road back on Oct. 9, while the loss for Glenville State (2-29, 0-15 MEC) left them still in search of their first win in conference play.
Notre Dame set the tone early, as they began the opening set by scoring the first five points, which was part of an 11-1 run, and they came away with a 25-18 victory.
The second set saw Glenville State stay within striking distance at the beginning before the Falcons pulled away at the end to win 25-18 again, and the Falcons used that exact same score in the final set of the evening to win the match.
Melissa Maczuzak had a big night for the Falcons, as she led NDC with 11 kills and added three blocks.
Shelby Regiec paced the Falcons with 25 assists on the night and led the Falcons with 18 digs and added four service aces.
Tawnia Almaraz added 10 digs, and
Angela Bush led the Falcons with eight blocks.
The Falcons are in action again on Saturday, Nov. 14, when they bring the 2015 season to a close against West Virginia Wesleyan at Murphy Gymnasium. The contest is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start.
