Box Score WISE, Va. – The Notre Dame Falcons fell in three sets to Virginia-Wise in another Mountain East Conference road tilt on Saturday morning.
The Falcons (2-16, 1-7 MEC) have now lost two in a row since snapping a long losing streak last week, while the win for the Cavaliers (12-9, 7-1 MEC) gives them two in a row overall, and seven in eight matches at home.
Things did not start so well for the Falcons, as they lost the opening set, 25-15, and it didn't get much better in the second set as the Cavaliers came away with a 25-13 victory, before closing out the match with 25-18 win in the final set to take the match.
Angela Bush led the way for the Falcons with eight kills on the day, and added three digs.
Kristen Hill added six kills to go along with a pair of blocks and a service ace, while
Lindsay Shirilla had six kills as well and seven digs.
Shelby Regiec led the Falcons with 10 assists while adding four digs, while
Tawnia Almaraz paced the Falcons with nine digs on the day.
Ashley Ohsiek led Notre Dame with three blocks, and added four digs.
The Falcons will return to action next Friday, Oct. 23, when they return home for another Mountain East Conference matchup against Charleston (WV) at Murphy Gymnasium. The contest is scheduled for a 7 PM start.
