Box Score SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – The Notre Dame Falcons fell to the Shepherd Rams in three sets in MEC action on Saturday afternoon.
The Falcons (4-10, 2-2 MEC) have now lost three in a row since winning their first two conference games a week ago, while the Rams (9-5, 3-1) have now won five out of their last six matches.
Notre Dame dropped the first set, 25-15, before falling in the second set, 25-13, and Shepherd took the match with a 25-19 victory in the final set to come away with the victory in three sets.
The Falcons had a tough day offensively.
Lindsay Shirilla was responsible for 6.5 points, as she came away with a team high, five kills on the afternoon.
Brooke Mako had four kills for the Falcons to go along with four digs.
Shelby Regiec led the Falcons with 10 assists and
Tawny Flareau had six.
Ryan Moriarty paced the Falcons with seven digs, while
Morgan Toman,
Tawnia Almaraz and Flareau each added six. Shea Thayer had four blocks as well.
The Falcons are in action again on Tuesday, Sept. 29 when they play host to Urbana at Murphy Gymnasium in more Mountain East action. The match is set for a 7 p.m. start.
