Box Score 1 | Box Score 2
SISSONVILLE, W.Va. -- The Notre Dame Falcon offense kept rolling on Saturday afternoon, scoring 20 runs in a double header sweep of Glenville State. (Box scores unavialable)

The Falcons (4-2, 2-0 MEC) outscored the Pioneers (0-4, 0-2), 20-6 on the afternoon, with a 10-6 victory in the first game of the day, before blanking the Pioneers, 10-0 in the finale.  Notre Dame has now won four in a row.

While NDC's offense was on display again, Jake Welch stole the show in the second game of the day, tossing a one-hit shutout to cap NDC's first bit of MEC action.

Game One:

Ryan Sanders had a big afternoon for the Falcons, and he was their main run producer in the opening contest, knocking in five of NDC's 10 runs.  He set the tone for NDC early on, as he belted a two-run bomb in the top of the first to give NDC an early lead.  The homer was his second of the season.

Game Two:

The Falcons used the long ball once again to stake an early advantage.  This time, it was Keifer Quick who smashed a two-run homer in the top of the first inning to give the Falcons a 2-0 edge.  Notre Dame followed that up, by scoring multiple runs in the next three frames.

Notre Dame capitalized on a pair of errors in the second inning, and scored three times to take a 5-0 lead. Mike Ferguson reached an error which allowed the first run to score, while TJ Lett and Danny Beaver knocked in runs on groundouts.

Shane DeFranco belted a run scoring single in the top of the third inning, before Brennan Singleton drove in a pair with a single to follow, as the Falcons mounted an 8-0 lead in the top of the third.

Notre Dame capped the big victory by plating a pair of runs in the top of the fourth. NDC used the long ball once again to pad their advantage, getting back-to-back solo bombs from Quick and Sanders, marking the second homer of the day for both of them.

Welch (2-0) went the distance for Notre Dame, allowing just one hit, and struck out 10 batters to score his second victory of the season.

The Falcons will be in action again on Sunday, March 2, as they continue Mountain East Conference play on the road against Glenville State (W.Va.).  First pitch in game one is scheduled for 1 p.m.
