Box Score
SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio -- The Notre Dame College volleyball team played its final home match of the 2014 campaign on Tuesday night against Lake Erie College, but the Falcons fell short against the Storm, losing by a match score of 3-0.

In the first set, Lake Erie jumped out to 13-6 lead, but the Falcons responded with a 10-7 run to cut the deficit to 20-16 following a service ace from sophomore Tawny Flareau, forcing a LEC timeout. Out of the timeout, the Storm went on a 5-3 run and went on to win the first set, 25-20.

The second set started off as a much more even battle between both sides, as the Falcons trailed by just two, 14-12, midway through the set. The Falcons attempted to battle back, but could never quite tie the set or take the lead. The Storm finished the second set on a 11-6 run, closing out the second-set victory 25-18.

The Storm again got off to a hot start in the third set, taking a 7-3 lead early. However, the Falcons quickly stormed back with a 12-6 run to take a 15-13 lead in the set. The Storm responded with an 8-4 run of their own, taking a 20-18 late in the third set, and the Falcons again took back momentum as they went on a 6-1 run to take the 24-21. The Storm again answered with a strong run, winning the next four points to take a 25-24 lead, but the see-saw battle continue as both teams again found themselves tied at 26, then tied again at 27, and tied once more at 28. Unfortunately for the Falcons, their hard-fought efforts fell just short, losing the third set 30-28, and the match, 3-0.

The Falcons will finish the 2014 regular season on the road against Charleston on Friday, Nov. 7. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
