Box Score SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – In a battle between the top two teams in the Mountain East Conference standings, the Notre Dame College Falcons played hosted to the visiting Charleston Golden Eagles on Tuesday afternoon at Mueller Field. The first time that these two teams met back on Sept. 17, the Falcons came away with a 3-0 win. Fortunately for NDC, it was able to pick up yet another win over UC on Tuesday, winning this time by a score of 1-0.
Both the Golden Eagles and the Falcons battled cold and wet conditions at Mueller Field, and the less-than-ideal weather led to a quiet first half. After 45 minutes of play, both teams sat gridlocked at a scoreless match.
However, the Falcons flipped the script in the second half by immediately making a mark on the scoreboard. In the 51

Jillian Doss scored an unassisted goal – her second of the season – to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead.
As the rain slowed down in the second half, so did the pace of the game. Nonetheless, the Falcons continued to apply pressure to the Golden Eagles' defense, controlling ball possession and creating offensive chances – but to no avail.
The second half continued with both sides struggling to create much of anything on offense as both defenses stood strong. With a 1-0 lead in hand and the clock ticking down, the Falcons continued to lean on their stellar defense as they closed out the game, picking up the 1-0 victory over Charleston.
With the win, the Falcons improve to 7-1-1 on the season, including 6-1-1 in MEC play and a 6-0 record at home.
The Falcons will next compete on Saturday, Oct. 11 on the road at Wheeling Jesuit University. The match is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
