Box Score SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – The Notre Dame Falcons fell at home on Saturday to Fairmont State in three sets.
For the Falcons (6-16, 4-8 MEC) the loss was their fourth in eight home matches this season, while the victory for Fairmont State (19-5, 10-2) the victory was their sixth in a row.
Notre Dame fed off some of the momentum they established the night before in their upset victory over Shepherd in the opening set, as they went toe-to-toe with the Fighting Falcons, but ultimately fell, 25-20. Fairmont State came right back with a victory in set two, 25-14 to take away any NDC momentum, and then Fairmont closed out the match with a 25-15 victory in the final set.
Leading the way for the Falcons on the afternoon was
Angela Bush, who had five kills, while a number of other Falcons finished with three.
Shelby Regiec was Notre Dame's leader in assists with 13, and
Tawny Flareau paced the Falcons defensively with a team high, 10 digs on the day.
The Falcons are in action again on Tuesday, Oct. 28, when they head to Urbana, Ohio, for a meeting with the Blue Knights in more Mountain East Conference action. The contest is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
