NDC wins in OT

Falcons defeat Shepherd, 1-0 in double overtime

Box Score
SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- On a mild Saturday afternoon, Notre Dame defeated the Rams from Shepherd University, 1-0 in a game that was, once again, decided in double overtime.

The Falcons (9-2-1, 8-1-2 MEC) took nine shots today, including five shots on goal. On the other side, the Rams (7-7-1, 5-6-0) took 15 shots with only two being on goal. Samantha Shoemaker had a couple of saves in goal for NDC, while Anna Mueller had four saves in goal for Shepherd but allowed the only goal of the game.

Overtime games have become commonplace for the Falcons as of late, as this marked the fourth game decided in overtime over the past five matches. NDC knew what to expect when the game was scoreless at the end of regulation.

Still scoreless heading into the 105th minute, Katherine Beattie kicked the game winner into the back of the net. Alexis Manoa was credited with the assist.

With the victory, the Falcons have won six of their last eight games and have either won or tied a game since their last loss on September 20th.

The Falcons are in action again on Tuesday, Oct. 21, when they hit the road against the West Liberty Hilltoppers. The game is scheduled to start at 3 pm.
