SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – The Notre Dame College women's soccer team continued the Falcons' winning ways on Mueller Field with a 2-0 victory over West Virginia Tech.

The Falcons (2-0) put in an industrious performance in front of an energetic crowd to continue their strong start to the season.

Again it was freshman Natalie Ockunzzi who opened the scoring for the Falcons with a firm strike from eight yards out after 13 minutes. The Falcons quickly doubled their lead in the 24thminute when Megan O'Connor was brought down in the box. O'Connor got up and calmly slotted in the penalty for the Falcons to make it 2-0.

The Falcons continued to work hard in the second half and created a number of goal scoring opportunities but were unable to add to the lead.

The Falcon defense produced another strong display; limiting the Golden Bears to seven shots and helping goalkeeper Kristy Kolshetzky keep her second clean sheet of the year.

The Falcons now move on to Mountain East Conference play, starting at Wheeling Jesuit on Saturday at 5 p.m. and then Charleston at home on Wednesday September 18th at 2 p.m.
