Box Score 1 | Box Score 2
LORAIN, Ohio -- The Notre Dame Falcons won twice in their final at bat against Salem International on Sunday afternoon at the Pipeyard, taking game one 2-1, and came from behind to win the series finale, 5-4.

The sweep for the Falcons (15-20) extends their winning streak to five games, a season high, while the losses for the Tigers (9-29) extended their losing streak to eight.

Game One

Notre Dame took an early advantage in the home half of the first inning.  After the first two batters of the inning were retired, Jesse Bartle stroked a double to left field, and he scored moment's later on Keifer Quick's two-bagger down the left field line.

The Tigers came right back, and tied the game at 1-1 in the next half inning.  Emmanuel Dominguez started the inning with the double and moved to third when Joseph Rufo reached on an infield single.  Dominguez came home during the next at bat when Kyle Hanson reached on a fielder's choice.

Matt Kastelic (4-2) held the Tigers in check the rest of the way, holding the Tigers to just a run on four hits while fanning six over seven innings to earn the victory.

The Falcons won in the bottom of the seventh inning, capitalizing on a couple of miscues.  Pat Ross reached on an error to start the inning, and Jesse Carriere laid down a sacrifice bunt to move Ross to second.  Bryan Blondeaux's groundout put Ross on third base, and he scored the game winner moments later on a passed ball.

Game Two

Game two featured a lot of back and forth, with the Tigers taking the early lead.  Notre Dame answered back with a big three-run sixth inning to take a 5-4 advantage, getting a number of clutch hits along the way.

The eventual game winner was delivered by Carriere, who stepped in with runners in scoring position with the Falcons down 4-3, and he shot a single into center field to bring in both the tying run, and the go ahead run.

The Falcons are in action again on Tuesday, April 16, as they hit the road for a twin bill against Slippery Rock.  Game one of the twin bill is schedule for a 3 p.m. start.
