Box Score SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio -- The Notre Dame Falcons fell on the road on Tuesday evening, dropping a road tilt to the Ursuline Arrows in four sets.
For the Falcons (3-22) the loss was their third in a row, while the victory for the Arrows (15-13) was their third in a row, and avenged a five set loss to the Falcons earlier this season.
The Arrows took the opening set, 25-19, in come from behind fashion. The Falcons got out to a great start, scoring the first four points of the set, and led by as many as seven (9-2), but the Arrows came storming back. They scored six straight points after falling behind by seven, and controlled the second half of the set for the win.
Notre Dame won the second set, 25-22. The set was evenly contested, until NDC caught fire and took a 21-16 advantage. Ursuline then scored four in a row to get back within striking distance, before the Falcons closed out the set for the win.
Early on in the third set, the two sides remained close, but with the set tied at 10-10, Ursuline took the advantage and never looked back, in a 25-19 victory, before closing out the match with a 25-15 victory in the final set.
Suzanne Morris led the Falcons with 10 kills on the evening, while adding a service ace, a block, a dig and an assist.
Taylor Thomas had eight kills to go along with four blocks, while
Stephanie Frick added eight kills as well.Â
Shelby Regiec led the Falcons with 33 assists, and was one of four Falcons to register double digit kills. Senior
Brittany Perrott led the way with 23 of those digs, while
Kelsey Swords added 16, and
Morgan Toman contributed with 12.
The Falcons are in action again on Friday, Nov. 1, when they hit the road for another Mountain East tilt against Shepherd (WV). The match is schedule for a 7 p.m. start.
