SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – The Notre College volleyball team dropped a tight game against Mountain East Conference opponent Concord.
The Falcons lost the three sets by only 10 points combined. The Falcons lost a tense first set 26-24, lost the second set 25-19 and pushed the Mountain Lions all the way in the third set before falling 25-23.
The Falcons produced a solid attacking performance but the number of errors were costly allowing Concord to build pull away at the end of each set.
The Falcons featured a balanced attacked with three Falcons recording at least 8 kills. Senior middle hitter
Suzanne Morris registered a team-high nine kills along with senior outside hitter
Stephanie Frick who also had nine kills. Freshman
Lindsay Shirilla continued her impressive freshman season with eight kills.
Freshman
Morgan Toman led the team with 20 digs and also recorded 3 service aces.
Sophomore setter
Shelby Regiec continued her solid season with 28 assists.
The Mountain Lions were led by Sarah Jones who had 11 kills and to their credit produced a solid performance on the road.
The Falcons have an immediate opportunity to bounce back for the loss as they face UVA-Wise on Saturday Oct. 19 at 11:00 a.m. in Murphy Gymnasium.
