SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – The Notre Dame Falcons went 1-1 in their tri-match on Saturday afternoon at Murphy Gymnasium, with a 3-0 victory over Ohio Valley (W.Va.) and a 3-1 loss to Cedarville. (

The split for Notre Dame (4-12) gives them a pair of wins at home this season, matching their win total on College Road from a year ago. Cedarville (17-3) went 2-0 on Saturday, and they've won five out of their last six, while Ohio Valley (2-16) have now lost six in a row.
Notre Dame won rather easily in their first contest of the day, defeating OVU in three sets. The Falcons took the opening set, 26-24, before winning by a convincing, 25-12 margin in the second set, then took the match with a 25-23 victory in the final set.
The Falcons fell in the tri-match finale against the Lady Yellow Jackets. NDC took the opening set, 25-21, before Cedarville came storming back to take the final three sets. Cedarville took the second set, 25-13, before taking the lead in the match with a 24-16 victory in the third set, and won, 25-19 in the clincher.

Brianne Schmansky led the way for NDC offensively, with 18 kills on the afternoon, including 14 in their victory over Ohio Valley.
Magenta Tygret was second on the team with a dozen kills.
Chandler Mass had 59 assists throughout the day, to go along with 17 digs, leading the team in both categories.
The Falcons are in action again on Tuesday, Oct. 2, when they hit the road for the first time in three weeks. The Falcons will travel to Painseville, Ohio, to square off against Lake Erie. The match will begin a 7 p.m.
