The Falcons (3-11) snapped a five game slide with the victory, which also snapped an 11-game losing streak on their home hardwood. For the Lady Marauders (0-5) the loss was their fifth in a row, and their second on the road this season.
The Falcons scored the first two points of the opening set, and never trailed. The two teams were separated by a couple of points (7-5) when the Falcons went on an incredible, 18-3 run to take the opening set, 25-8.
NDC dominated the second set as well. The Falcons scored six out of the first seven points, and again never trailed. The second set ended with NDC going on an 8-2 run to secure a 25-10 win.
Central State took their only lead of the evening at the beginning of the third set. The Falcons took a 3-2 advantage after trailing briefly, and never looked back. NDC was ahead, 8-5, when they went on an 8-3 run to take a commanding lead, and finished the third set with a 25-11 victory.
Magenta Tygret once again led the Falcons offensively with eight kills on the night, and hit .583 during the contest.
Angela Bush delivered six kills on the night and hit .556, while
Suzanne Morris hit .571 on the evening with five kills.
Chandler Mass delivered 18 assists on the evening and
Kelsey Swords led the way defensively with eight digs.
The Falcons are back at it again on Saturday, Sept. 29, when they host another tri-match at Murphy Gymnasium. The Falcons are scheduled to take on Ohio Valley (W.Va.) at 11 a.m., and Cedarville at 3 p.m.
