Walsh keeps NDC off scoreboard in GLIAC win

Falcons fall, 1-0, on Friday in North Canton

Box Score
NORTH CANTON, Ohio -- Notre Dame fell to Walsh, 1-0, in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Friday.

The Cavaliers (4-1-1, 2-1-1 GLIAC) scored an early goal and then played solid defense, protecting the lone marker throughout.  For Notre Dame (2-5, 1-2), the loss marked the second straight time that the Falcons have been shut out and the fifth such occurrence of the 2012 season.

Walsh scored in the fifth minute of play when a Lindsey Smith feed set up Carley Adams for a netfinder, Adams' first of the season.  The goal keepers kept lids on their respective goals the rest of the way with WU's Michaela Stuckey and Taylor Stano splitting four saves and with Christy Kolschetzky saving four for NDC.

The Cavaliers (10 shots) and Falcons (seven) managed to combine for just 17 shots in the match.

Notre Dame will play the back half of its Stark County weekend road trip on Sunday when the Falcons visit Malone (3:30 p.m.)
