SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio -- The Notre Dame Falcons opened the home portion of their 2012 schedule on Sunday afternoon, with losses to LeMoyne (N.Y.) and Edinboro (Pa.) in a tri-match at Murphy Gymnasium. (

The Falcons (2-9) have now lost three matches in a row, and fell in their home opener, for the third year in a row. Edinboro (2-9) snapped a nine game slide with their victory over the Falcons in the tri-match finale, while LeMoyne (9-2) extended their winning streak to nine with the tri-match sweep.
Notre Dame fell in the first contest of the day, 3-0 to LeMoyne. After a tough, 25-19 setback in the first set, Notre Dame fell, 25-12, in the second set, before the Dolphins delivered the knockout punch with a 25-20 victory in the third and final set.
The Falcons dropped the first two sets of their second contest against Edinboro, falling 25-19, and 25-20, before they came storming back with a 25-19 victory in the third set. The Fighting Scots rallied, and hit .303 in the final set, taking a 25-19 decision to defeat NDC.
Magenta Tygret paced NDC on the afternoon with 19 total kills, while
Brianne Schmansky turned in 18. NDC sophomore
Chandler Mass led the Falcons with 68 assists on the afternoon, while
Taylor Thomas registered six solo blocks and had three assists.
Kelsey Swords contributed with 24 digs.
The Falcons are in action at home again on Tuesday night. The Falcons will host Lake Erie at Murphy Gymnasium, the contest is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
