Box Score 2 FAIRMONT, W.Va. – The Notre Dame Falcons fell two more times on Saturday afternoon, dropping matches to both Fairmont State (W.Va.) and Pitt-Johnstown, in their final day action at the Falcon Fest Tournament. (

The Falcons (0-4) fell in three sets in the first match of the day against the hosts, Fairmont State, before dropping their second match to Pitt-Johnstown, in another nail biter, 3-2.
The first match of the day, against Fairmont State did not turn out so well, as FSU took care of business in three sets, defeating NDC, 25-21, 25-18 and 25-18.
In the second match, the Falcons looked like they were well on their way to snagging their first win of the season, as they took the first two set from Pitt-Johnstown, 25-22, and 25-17. Pitt-Johnstown came storming back, and took the third and fourth sets, 25-18 and 25-15 respectfully. The Falcons pushed Pitt-Johnstown to the limit in the final set, but fell, 15-13.
NDC junior
Magenta Tygret finished up a great weekend with 14 kills in the second match, and led the Falcons with 16 kills on the day. Over the weekend the Gilbert, Ari., native, tallied 37 kills to lead the Falcons.
Brianne Schmansky had nine kills in the loss to Pitt-Johnstown, giving her 15 on the day. First year Falcon
Kristen Hill had 13 kills on Saturday, and finished second on the team in tournament play over the weekend with 35 kills.
Notre Dame sophomore
Chandler Mass had another big day, amassing 72 assists on Saturday, giving her 149 total during the tournament.
Kelsey Swords paced NDC defensively with 32 digs on the afternoon, and delivered 65 digs through the weekend.
The Falcons are back in action again on Friday, Sept. 7, when they begin play in the Grand Valley State Laker Classic. The Falcons have two contests scheduled on Friday. They'll face Seton Hill (Pa.) at 11 AM and Stone Hill (Mass.) at 3 PM.
