NDC downed by Findlay, 2-0

Loss results in winless weekend for Falcons

Box Score
LYNDHURST, Ohio – Notre Dame was defeated by the visiting Findlay Dragons, 2-0, on Sunday afternoon at Korb field.

For the Falcons (3-8, 2-5 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) the home loss marked NDC's third straight loss, with all three coming in home matches.

The victory improved the Oilers' record to 3-6-1 overall and 3-3-1 in GLIAC play. The win also snapped a four- game losing streak and marked UF's first road win of the season.

On a rainy day in Lyndhurst, constant pressure by Findlay's offense led to an own goal by Notre Dame in the 21st minute of the match.

As the rain continued to drench Korb Field, the defense continued to be attacked by the Oilers. In the 38th minute, junior Katie Burke scored on a pass from senior Brittany Guglielmi to put Findlay on top, 2-0. That goal would close out the scoring for the first half with the Oilers' outshooting the Falcons, 12-0.

The tone of the game remained unchanged throughout the second half as Findlay continued to dominate possession and outshoot NDC.

With loss the Blue & White have now dropped five of their last six games overall.

The Falcons will look to rebound from that stretch Friday when they travel to Midland, Mich., to take on the Northwood Timberwolves in a match beginning at 7 p.m.
