The loss for Notre Dame (4-14) leaves them looking for their first road victory of the 2012 season, putting them at 0-4 in true road contests this season. The victory for Baldwin-Wallace (9-13) snapped a three game slide.
The opening set was kind of rough on both sides, with both teams failing to register double digit kills, but B.W. came away with a 25-10 victory to take a 1-0 advantage.
Things didn't work out so well for the Falcons in the second set, as they were held to just seven kills, and hit .065, while the Yellow Jackets dominated the second set. B.W. hit .464 in the second set, and won convincingly, 25-10.
NDC did not go down quietly in the final set, pushing the Yellow Jackets to their limit. Notre Dame hit .225 in the final set, but fell, in a 26-24 final.
Magenta Tygret led the Falcons in kills with seven, while hitting .240 on the evening, and also led the Falcons with nine digs.
Brianne Schmansky added six kills and
Angela Bush delivered five.
Chandler Mass had 27 assists in the contest, while
Erica Crawford and
Ellen Snyder added four digs each.
The Falcons are in action again on Tuesday, Oct. 9, when they host Malone at Murphy Gymnasium. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
