URBANA, Ohio -- The Notre Dame Falcons lost their eighth match in a row on Friday evening, dropping a 3-0 decision on the road against Urbana.
The eight game losing streak for the Falcons (4-19) is their longest of the season. The victory for Urbana (7-17) halted a brief two game slide, and marked their second over the Falcons over the last seven days
The Blue Knights began the match with a convincing, 25-11 victory in the opening set. Urbana came right back to take the second set 25-16, before the Falcons put forth a strong effort to push the Blue Knights in the final set. Notre Dame dropped the final set, 25-23, marking the fourth time in their last eight sets that they've lost by two points.
The Falcons are in action again on Tuesday, Oct. 23, when they square off against Tiffin for their 2012 home finale. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
