The win for the Falcons, (12-19) gives them three in a row, since losing six straight matches, and gives them the chance to take down the top seeded Yellow Jackets of Cedarville on Saturday.
The Falcons found themselves in an early hole against Urbana, after dropping the first two sets. Urbana took the opening set, 25-19, and took the second set rather easily, 25-16. The Falcons and Blue Knights battled in a pair of close sets, in sets three and four, but NDC won, 25-22, and 25-23 to force a decisive fifth set.
Notre Dame took the final set, 15-10, ending Urbana's season, and extending theirs, by at least a day. Earlier this year, Notre Dame fell to Urbana at home, 3-2. On Oct. 25, the Falcons were up, 2-0, on the road against the Blue Knights, but Urbana rallied to win the match, 3-2.
The Falcons will face the top seeded Yellow Jackets of Cedarville University, in the semi-final round of the tournament on Saturday, Nov. 12. The match is slated to begin at 10 a.m.
