SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio -- The Ursuline Arrows defeated the Notre Dame Falcons, 3-1 at Murphy Gymnasium on Thursday evening, marking the first win for the Arrows in 10 tries on College Road.
The loss for the Falcons (8-12) gives them four in their last five matches, and was their sixth on their home floor this season). The victory for Ursuline (7-11) snaps a three match losing skid, and gives them two in a row over NDC.
The Arrows set the tone in the opening set, with a convincing 25-15 victory. The Arrows took a 2-0 advantage by taking the second set, 25-20, before Notre Dame took the advantage in the third set with a 25-21 victory. The Arrows sealed the deal with another 25-20 win in the fourth set to take the match.
“This was a very tough match for us to lose tonight,” said Head Coach
Mark Ridley. “I hope that we can learn from this, and avoid making some of the same mistakes moving forward.”
The Falcons will be in action again on Tuesday, Oct. 18, when they host Walsh at Murphy Gymnasium. The contest is slated to begin at 7 p.m.
