SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio -- Notre Dame swept a pair of matches on Saturday afternoon, topping Ohio Valley (W. Va.) and Central State at Murphy Gymnasium.
The Falcons downed Ohio Valley, 3-1, and then swept CSU in straight sets, 3-0. Brittany Tindall had 18 kills and hit .271 over NDC's twin victories at home. Prior to Saturday, the Falcons (7-8) had lost seven straight home matches dating back to the 2010 season.
“It was great to finally win at home,” said Head Coach
Mark Ridley. “It had been too long.”
Led by
Chandler Mass' five, Notre Dame had a combined 20 service aces over the two matches.
Against OVU the Falcons lost the first set, 25-22, before rattling off three straight wins (28-26, 25-21, 25-17). The home side carried that momentum into their battle with the Lady Marauders of Central State. In that match, the Falcons won handily, 25-9, 25-10, 25-10. Over the three sets, NDC hit .468.
“Once we got it going, we played very well and in many facets of the game,” said Ridley.
