The Falcons were in action bright and early on Saturday morning, as their match against Madonna began at 8:45 a.m. Notre Dame put up a good fight in the first match, falling 25-20. The 20 points are a team high for the Falcons in a match this season. Madonna went on to win the next two sets, 25-12 and 25-17.
Notre Dame was handled rather easily in their next match against Bethel, as they failed to score more than 16 points in all three matches, with Bethel winning in straight sets, 25-15, 25-14, and 25-16. The meeting marked the second time that the two teams met, with the Falcons winning 3-1 during the 2002 season.
Notre Dame is back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 1, when they travel to John Carroll. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
