URBANA, Ohio -- The Notre Dame Falcons saved their finest road performance of the season for their last road match of the 2010 campaign, as they defeated Urbana in three sets on Tuesday night. (

Urbana (12-19) had their three match winning streak snapped in the loss, and for Notre Dame (4-28) the victory snapped a four match losing streak, and marked Notre Dame's second road victory of the season. The victory for Notre Dame was their first since defeating Carlow on Oct. 19.
All three sets were very competitive, with both teams scoring 20 points or more, and two of the sets were decided by two points. Notre Dame registered 16 kills in the opening set to take a 25-21 victory, and then outlasted the Blue Knights in the second set, 29-27, before securing the sweep by taking the final set, 25-23.
#Kari Kincannon# led the charge for Notre Dame offensively, hitting .550 on the night, with 11 kills. In her final road match of her NDC career, senior #Jessica Suvak# turned in nine kills and added eight digs, while #Brianne Schmansky# and #Natalie Houdek# each added seven kills apiece. Sophomore #Tayler Pugliese# dished out 35 assists, and ended up with eight digs. #Cristin Brown# paced the Falcons defensively with 21 digs, while #Taylor Thomas# contributed with four blocks.
Tuesday's tilt was the second matchup of the season between the two teams. Urbana defeated the Falcons, 3-0, at Murphy Gymnasium back on Oct. 12. The Blue Knights are 8-4 all time against the Falcons.
The Falcons will put a cap on the 2010 season on Saturday Nov. 6. They will welcome Cedarville to Murphy Gymnasium for an American Mideast Conference tilt. The match is slated for a 1 p.m. start.

TERRIFIC TUESDAYS: With their victory on Tuesday night, the Falcons are 3-1 over their last four Tuesday matches. Three out of NDC's four victories this season have occurred on a Tuesday.
END OF THE ROAD: Tuesday's contest marked Notre Dame's final road match of the season. The Falcons went 2-9 in road matches, and 1-10 in matches on neutral sites. Their two victories on the road came in Carlow and Urbana.
NUETRALIZING NOVEMBER: After defeating the Blue Knights on Tuesday night, the Falcons are now 4-2 in their last six matches in the month of November.
