After a scoreless opening period that accounted for just five shots, two by NDC and three by HC, the teams ended the first half just as the game began.
Notre Dame would get the opening goal just seven minutes into the second half when two freshman combined to put the Falcons up 1-0. #Emily Balodis#, a freshman from Cleveland, Ohio would receive a pass from #Alex Mannier#, a freshman from Troy, Ohio, and put the Falcons up 1-0 at the 52:04 mark.
The Blue and White would extend their lead to 2-0 at the 59:06 mark, when Mannier would put the finishing touches to a #Lauren Kobylik# pass. The goal would be Mannier's fifth goal of the season, tied with #Katie Christiansen# for tops on the team. Kobylik, a sophomore from Lapeer, Mich. served up her third assisted in the past two matches.
Houghton would respond, first getting a goal by, Jen Hudson assisted by Amy-Kaye Mitchell. Amy-Kaye Mitchell would bring the match level at the 78:52 mark on a penalty kick.
Erin Miller would provide a solo effort, putting the Highlanders in the lead less than nine minutes from the final whistle and HC's 3-2 lead at the 81:17 mark.
Houghton would lead 9-4 in shots, and hold a distinct advantage in corner kicks, 5-1 for the match.
#Kristy Kolschetzky#, a freshman from Mentor, Ohio would be credited with making three saves in the loss.
The loss, just the fourth of the season, knocks the ladies in Blue and White out of the AMC Tournament and marks the conclusion to the season.
