Falcons stalemated at home

LYNDHURST, Ohio – Notre Dame (5-2-3, 4-1-1 AMC) came into their sixth American Mideast Conference tilt of the season against Malone (5-5-1, 1-3-1 AMC) after losing their first AMC match of the season 3-2 to Daemen last Saturday.

The Falcon and Pioneers battled over 110 minutes to a double overtime 0-0 stalemate. Kristy Kolsschetzy, a freshman from Mentor, Ohio went the distance for NDC earning her fifth shutout of the season while making two saves.

Notre Dame outshot the visiting Pioneers 20-7, earning a distinct advantage in shots on target, 10-2, and corner kicks 9-3 though the 110 minutes of play.

The draw marks the first time in four meetings Malone earned a point against the Falcons. The Falcons had won the previous three encounters by a combined 4-0.

NDC will play their second consecutive home match on Monday Oct. 11, 2010, taking on AMC foe Walsh at Korb Field. The match is scheduled to kickoff at 7:00 p.m. 


NOTES FROM THE NEST…

FULL TIME: The Falcons have played three double overtime matches this year to a 0-0-3 record this year. Last season the Falcons went an impressive 3-1-0 in overtime matches.
