The loss for the Falcons (3-26, 1-7) was their ninth away from Murphy Gymnasium, and they have now lost three out of their last four. For Gannon (17-7), the victory was their ninth in their last 11 games, and improved their home record to 7-0.
The Falcons fell behind early, 5-1 in the opening set and were never able to recover in a 25-13 loss. Notre Dame performed much better in the second set, taking a 6-3 lead, but Gannon rallied and came back, as they went on a 12-5 run to finish the set, winning 25-18. Gannon put the match away by winning the final set in convincing fashion, 25-8.
#Kari Kincannon# paced Notre Dame with seven kills on the evening. #Tayler Pugliese# once again led the Falcons with 18 assists, giving her 112 over her last three matches. Senior #Cristin Brown had 14 digs on the night, while Pugliese and #Jessica Suvak# ended up with seven. Kincannon and #Taylor Thomas# each had three blocking assists.
The Falcons will be back in action again on Tuesday, Oct. 26, when they home for the first time in two weeks, for an American Mideast Conference showdown with Mount Vernon Nazarene. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
