AMHERST, N.Y. -- Notre Dame (5-2-2, 4-1-0 AMC) suffered their first conference loss of the season to Daemen (6-3-1, 2-2-1 AMC) 3-2.

Notre Dame found itself trailing for the first time since Sept. 5 when they went a goal down to ninth-ranked (NAIA Preseason Coaches' Poll) William Carey (Miss.). The Falcons had not allowed a goal in over 627 minutes of play after drawing 1-1 with William Carey until Wildcats, Lindsay Miller touched home the opening goal at the 20:07 mark after a scramble for the ball in front of net that followed a Wildcat corner kick.

The visiting Falcons wasted little time before drawing level, #Katie Christensen#, a junior from Sandy, Utah latched onto an #Alex Mannier# assist at the 22:55 mark. Mannier, a freshman from Troy, Ohio picked up her team leading third assist on Christensen's team leading fourth goal.

Eleven minutes later the hosts would reclaim the lead when Kacey Bougard jumped high into the air, heading home Samantha Engel's corner kick past the Falcons net minder #Emilie LaMarche# for 2-1 lead.

Both team had other scoring chances through the first 45 minutes, but the score would remain 2-1 in favor of the host Wildcats at the break. Daemen held a 9-4 advantage in shots, and a slight advantage in corner kicks 4-3 in the first half.

The second half opened with the Falcons replacing LaMarche with freshman #Kristy Kolschetzky# in net. Notre dame began moving the ball well, resulting in more opportunities. #Becky Mielnik#, a freshman from Concord, Ohio would bring the score level with a screaming shot from outside the 18 at the 59:47 mark. Mielnik's equalizer marked her first colligate goal and point.

Just over three minutes later the Falcons would find themselves trailing for the third time on the day when Samantha Engel gave the Wildcats the lead back for good at the 63:03 mark.

The Falcons kept pressing to tie the score through the final 26 minutes and change. A shot wide and another saved by Wildcats keeper Stephanie Aurand would ensure the hosts a 3-2 win over the AMC leading Falcons.

Through the first half LaMarche made one save on 9 shots, Kolschetzky made 4 saves on 9 shots in the second 45 minutes while the Hosts Stephanie Aurand went the distance making 4 saves on 11 shots.
