Notre Dame (6-2-3, 5-1-1 AMC) entered the match on their second two game winless streak of the season. The Falcons opened the season Sept. 4, losing 5-0 against No. 5 (NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches' Preseason Top 25 Poll) Martin Methodist and drawing 1-1 with ninth-ranked (NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches' Preseason Top 25 Poll) William Carey, Sept. 5. Walsh came into the match on a two game winning streak after falling 4-0, to No. 10 (NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll) Indiana Wesleyan.
The Falcons held a 10-1 advantage in shots including two off the crossbar and a 5-0 lead in corner kicks over the visiting Cavilers in the opening 45 minutes but could not find the back of the net.
After the break, the ladies in blue and white came out with a more determined look. #Katie Christensen#, a junior from Sandy, Utah held off two Caviler defenders before setting up Balodis. Balodis a freshman from Cleveland, Ohio smashed home her second goal of the year and her first collegiate match winner at the 47:32 mark.
The loss marked Walsh's first loss of 2010 against a non ranked opponent.
Freshman #Kristy Kolschetzky#, recorded four saves to earn her sixth shutout of the season.
