The loss for Notre Dame (12-7) halts a five-match win streak and the Falcons' season along with it.

The Lady Cougars (11-5-1) took an early lead in the game when Jessica Estep knocked in a goal on a Haley Sparks assist at 0:28. The goal would hold the score at 1-0 until the end of the first half and nearly until the end of regulation.

#Katie Christensen# spoiled the MVNU lead in the 88th minute with her 10th goal of the season. That leveled the score at 1-1 and sent the match into overtime.

In just the fourth minute of the extra frame, Heidi Moeckel scored to send Mount Vernon into the AMC Championship Game, which is slated for Saturday.

For the match, MVNU outshot Notre Dame, 13-7. The Lady Cougars put eight shots on goal to NDC's five. #Emilie Lamarche# made six saves in goal.
