LYNDHURST, Ohio – #Lauren Acker# scored a pair of goals, and a dominant Notre Dame defense allowed just three shots on goal, as the Falcons shut out Point Park, 3-0, on Saturday morning. (Box)

With the victory, Notre Dame (9-6, 6-3) has won six of their last seven matches, all of which have been conference tilts. With the loss, Point Park (2-11-1, 0-8-1) remains winless in league play and dropped three straight games.

Notre Dame outshot Point Park, 22-5, in what was the Falcons' sixth shutout of the season.

Lauren Acker got the Falcons on the board at 17:37, when she booted home an #Ashley Rucker# cross to finish off a crisp two-on-one break for Notre Dame.

Before the first half ended, the Falcons added to their lead, when pressure around Pioneer keeper Mauve Gallagher forced the visitors into an own goal, at 38:48. Notre Dame took those two goals into halftime, with a 2-0 advantage on the Korb Field scoreboard and an 8-0 lead in shots on goal.

In the second half, the Falcons added a third goal at 51:03, when Acker connected on her second of the match. That netfinder came courtesy a free-kick feed from #Morgan Lichtinger#.

#Emilie Lamarche# and #Brittany Cruz# split time in net for NDC, each logging 45 uneventful minutes.

The Falcons' next match is slated for Tuesday, Oct. 27, when NDC rounds out a five-match home stand with a 7 p.m. Korb Field tilt against Roberts Wesleyan (N.Y.).
