SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio -- Notre Dame downed Carlow (Pa.) in three quick sets, defeating the Celtics, 25-8, in the final set.
The Falcons, who ended a four-match losing streak on Saturday, have now won two straight.
The Falcons increased their American Mideast Conference record to 4-6, and overall are now 500 at 14-14. The Celtics (10-16, 0-7 AMC) stuck with the Falcons (14-14, 4-6) for the first set, 25-23, but were ousted 25-15, and 25-8 in the last two, as NDC recorded its eighth shutout of the season.
Junior #Katie Barbis# had 10 kills, and 11.5 points (10K-1 SA-.5 BA) to pace NDC on the night. #Brianne Schmansky# and #Paige Heistan# each added 11 kills each.
Junior #Mandy Bastian# had 18 digs on the night; senior setter #Kate Verhoff# posted 36 assists.
Notre Dame out-hit Carlow, .500 to .178, on the night, with their hitting percentage being a season-high.
The Falcons' next match is Thursday, Oct. 22, against the Ursuline Arrows. The first serve on Thursday is slated for 7:00 p.m. in what will be a home match for the Blue & White.
