BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference has recognized
Grace Fisher as the final Pitcher of the Week in the 2024 regular season. Fisher takes the award, which is presented by The Health Plan, after going 2-0 last week, with a shutout, a combined shutout and a total of 21 strikeouts through 13 innings pitched. (

Fisher, a Painesville, Ohio native, was dominant last week helping Notre Dame College to a 4-0 record against Wheeling University and West Liberty University. The sweep of West Liberty, on Saturday, allowed the Falcons to clinch the three seed in the North Division heading into the conference tournament.
The NDC pitching was outstanding all weekend, allowing just three runs in four games. Along with her 21 strikeouts, Fisher only allowed four hits and walked one.
Against Wheeling, on April 26, Fisher and senior
Chloe Vance combined for a shutout. Fisher threw six innings, allowing three hits while striking out 12, which ties her season-high and is one away from her career-high. The Riverside High School product struck out at least two hitters in five of her six innings of work.
On Saturday, against West Liberty, Fisher had a no-hitter going through 5 2/3 innings. She allowed one hit in the complete game shutout, while striking out nine. Fisher had four strikeouts through the first three innings and set the program's single-season strikeout record and currently has 174 on the year.
The sophomore now has 16 wins this season and is one shutout away from tying the program single-season record.
Notre Dame will travel to Troutville, Va. For the first game of the Mountain East Conference Tournament. The Falcons will play Glenville State University, on May 1, with a first pitch scheduled for 8 p.m.
