This Week:Â On Jan. 5, in the Murphy Gymnasium, Notre Dame College wrestling will compete in front of its home fans. The dual meet, set to begin at 5 p.m., will feature the Falcons taking on Gannon University.
Records:Â Notre Dame has an 0-6 record in dual meets this season, while Gannon is 2-1.
Coaches Corner:Â
Jordon Tague is in his second season leading NDC. Tom Boyd has been at Gannon since 1995 as the top assistant and is now in his first campaign as head coach.
Rankings:Â In the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association Division II Top 25, Gannon is receiving 12 votes in the team rankings. The Golden Knights are one point behind Glenville State for the 25th spot. In the NWCA individual rankings, Gannon's Jose Diaz is No. 9 at 125 lbs., Jerry Echevarria is ranked 8th at 133 and Nick Coreno is No. 11 at 165. In The Open Mat rankings, Diaz is No. 12, Echevarria is No. 8, James Ryan ranks No. 17 at 149, Coreno is No. 12, Cole Hivor is No. 19 at 174 and Cole Casilio ranks 15th at 184.

La'Ron Parks is the 17th wrestler at heavyweight, according to The Open Mat.

Series History:Â NDC has never faced Gannon in a dual.
Noting the Falcons:Â Notre Dame last wrestled at the Midwest Classic, in Indianapolis, on Dec. 16 and 17.
Marvelous Rutledge defeated No. 6 Logan Kvien (McKendree) at 197 lbs. Also at the Classic,
La'Ron Parks defeated Mount Olive's Slade Watkins, with a close 5-1 decision in the first tie-breaker period, before getting past Christian Taylor (Mercyhurst) with an 8-0 major decision.

The last dual that NDC competed in was the Carolina Clash Duals, hosted by No. 1 Lander University. There, the Falcons not only faced the top team in the nation, but also No. 18 Belmont Abbey along with Mount Olive and UNC Pembroke, who were receiving votes.

La'Ron Parks has gone up against Gannon's heavyweight, Matt Long, twice this season. At the Findlay Open, Parks won by decision, on his way to the top spot at 285 lbs. In the Midwest Classic, Long moved past Parks in the consolation bracket.
Noting the Golden Knights: Gannon was also at the Midwest Classic in the middle of December, the last competition of the calendar year. GU finished 11th in the open hosted by UIndy.

Last February and March, Gannon finished second in the Regional Tournament and took 10th place in the NCAA Division II National Championships. This season, GU rode that momentum into a first-place finish at the Mount Union Invitational and third place in the Ohio Intercollegiate Open to start the campaign. In three dual meets so far, Gannon defeated Fairmont State (43-4) and Kent State (20-19) and only lost to No. 12 Lake Erie by five (20-15).
