TIFFIN, Ohio – Notre Dame College traveled to Tiffin University for the regional duals, on Saturday. The Falcons faced some tough competition, falling to No. 20 ranked Tiffin, 43-9, No. 5 Lake Erie College, 31-15, and the University of Findlay, 43-9.
Junior
Ethan Aguiniga was shining bright throughout the day, winning both of his bouts at 165 lbs. In the first matchup of the day, he grabbed an early lead against Jacob Pail and never gave it away. With one minute left in the third period, he secured the 10-4 win with a tough takedown of the Dragons' grappler. Aguiniga's final match of the day came against Lake Erie's Thomas Potter. The Falcons tallied three team points with the 6-4 decision victory at 165.
Heavyweight
La'Ron Parks won his first two matches via forfeit. In his only true matchup of the day, Parks took Findlay's Giulian Bodiu to the mat for one takedown. That would be enough in the 3-2 win.
The Falcons will come back home for a tri-match against No. 1 West Liberty and No. 16 Grand Valley State, on Jan. 18.
