UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio – Making the short trip over to John Carroll University, the Notre Dame College swimming and diving team competed in a tri-meet against Oberlin and JCU on Friday evening. Despite competing, the NDC women fell 182-97 to Oberlin and 212-73 to John Carroll, while the NDC men dropped 202-62 to OC and 232-31 to JCU.
Senior
Jordan Stump boasted a pair of first place finishes to lead Notre Dame on the day. The Seville, Ohio native swept the breaststroke events, beginning with a 33.22 in the 50-yard breaststroke. The Firestone High School product featured an encore performance in the 100-yard breaststroke, taking first place at 1:13.08. Stump also picked up third place in the 100 IM, at 1:08.16.
Freshman
Riley Monahan secured second place in both distance freestyle events. The Chelsea, MI native touched the wall at 11:57.29 in the 1,000-yard freestyle and 5:46.94 in the 500-yard freestyle
Luis Aguilar Delgado also owned a pair of second place finishes, as he tallied a 52.52 in the 100-yard butterfly, and a 54.65 in the 100-yard IM.
Courtney Ledbetter enjoyed a pair of top three showings, claiming second in the 50-yard freestyle (25.98) and third place in the 100-yard freestyle (58.63).
Abrielle Junge (200 Free) and
Marcia Baum Telford (100 Back), rounded out the top-three finishes for the Falcons at times of 2:07.72 and 1:09.46, respectively.
The Notre Dame College swimming and diving team will be back in action on Friday Jan. 19 at 5 p.m. for the Falcons home opener against Malone University.
