Weathers stuffs stat sheet despite low-scoring affair on Saturday afternoon

Box Score SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – Sophomore Noel Weathers stuffed the stat sheet on Saturday afternoon inside Murphy Gymnasium, totaling 10 points, 10 rebounds, six blocks, five steals and three assists. The Cincinnati, Ohio native's six blocks are tied for the second-most in a game in NDC program history. However, the Falcons (3-8) fell to the Tiffin Dragons (4-8), 57-54.
 
The first quarter started slow, as Notre Dame halted Tiffin to just seven points scored in the period. NDC's Rachel Richardson scored the Falcons first seven points of the contest, as Notre Dame owned 14-7 advantage after the first 10 minutes of play.
 
The game remained tight into the halftime break, as NDC's lead fluctuated between 1-6 points in the period. TU took the quarter 17-14, as Notre Dame led 27-24 at halftime.
 
Out of the break, Tiffin grabbed their first lead of the game at 28-27 with 8:50 to play in the third quarter. The Falcons would knot the contest up at 34-34, however the Dragons took a 42-36 lead into the fourth quarter.
 
Notre Dame regained a 47-45 edge with 5:46 left to play, as NDC generated a 9-1 run, capped off by a pair of Richardson layups. With 3:03 on the clock, the Falcons held a narrow 49-48 advantage when Lilee Carlson found the hoop. However, Tiffin quickly regained the lead, before closing out the contest, 57-54.
 
Richardson paced the Notre Dame College offense with 12 points, while Carlson tallied 11 and Weathers notched 10. Cencere McDaniel and Karli Anker chipped in seven points apiece.
 
Weathers posted her third double-double of the season, by corralling a game-high 10 rebounds. Moreover, the Mt. Healthy High School product dished out a game-high and career-high three assists, swiped a game-high and career-high five steals and blocked a game-high and career-high six shots. Six blocked shots are tied for the second-most in NDC program history, including the most since Jan. 30, 2019.
 
Carlson joined the defensive efforts with two blocks and two steals as NDC totaled eight blocks as a team, tied for the ninth-most in program history, including the most since Jan. 30, 2019 at WV State.
 
As a unit, Notre Dame shot 21-61 (34.4%) from the floor, 3-17 (17.6%) from three and 9-17 (52.9%) from the free throw line. The Falcons added 40 rebounds, eight assists, 12 steals and eight blocks.
 
The Notre Dame College women's basketball team will be back in action on Saturday Jan. 6 at 3 p.m. when the Falcons travel to Lake Erie College.
