ATHENS, W.Va. – Notre Dame College sophomore
Devin Haid posted a double-double (20 points, 10 rebounds) and hit some important shots, but Concord University was able to extend its lead in overtime to defeat the Falcons by a score of 93-83.
Notre Dame got off to a great start, as junior

Robbie Cass for a three pointer. The Mountain Lions missed two 3-pointers on the other end and Haid went down the court and straight to the hoop for a layup to give NDC a 5-0 lead.
The Mountain Lions quickly took the lead with a 10-0 run, but Notre Dame fired back with the stroke from long distance. Haid hit a three to tie the contest at 10 and, a couple possessions later, junior
Andre Harris grabbed an offensive rebound, which allowed freshman
Cameron Johnson to sink a jumper and give NDC a 12-10 advantage with 12:02 on the clock.
After Notre Dame's
Kaleb Torrence made a three-pointer to give Notre Dame a 15-12 advantage, at the 10:35-mark, Concord scored 12 unanswered points, and held a nine-point lead, 24-15.
As they did on Wednesday, the Falcons put together a fierce comeback to end the half. Concord missed seven shots in the final seven minutes of the first half and the Falcons put together a 20-9 run. Harris had seven points, a block and an assist on the run at the end of the half. He connected on a three-pointer to put NDC in front, 35-33, with 34 seconds remaining before halftime.
The teams combined for five lead changes and the contest was tied up seven times in a closely contested second half.
As the final 20 minutes began, CU put together a 7-2 run, but NDC answered back when junior
RJ Ogom launched one from long range to tie the game at 40.
The Falcons held a consistent six-point lead from the 10:28-mark through the 8:21-mark. But, the Mountain Lions put together a 6-0 run to tie the game at 60.
Haid and Cass hit back-to-back threes, but Concord would not go away, closing within two points, again.
Between the 2:43-mark and the end of regulation, the game was tied four times. In the final 12 minutes of the second half, Concord only led once, and that took place when Ayden Ince knocked down a three, with less than 15 seconds on the clock.
The Falcons called a timeout and inbounded the ball near the halfcourt line. Sophomore
Jevontae Jones caught the ball well behind the three-point line and sent a shot into the bottom of the hoop, with the defense closing in, to tie the game at 75 and send it into overtime.

Concord would take an early lead in overtime and never gave it back. They outscored the Falcons by 10 to win the game, 93-83.
Haid played 36 minutes in the game, scoring 20 points and tallying a season-high 10 rebounds and four blocks. Harris totaled 13 points, eight boards and three assists. Jones added 11 points off the bench.
Notre Dame will head to Elkins, W.Va. next Wednesday, Dec. 6, for a matchup with Davis & Elkins College. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
