CANTON, Ohio – The Notre Dame College swimming and diving team traveled to the Malone University Invite this past weekend, as the Falcons competed amongst 14 different institutions from Thursday-Saturday. The NDC women's team finished with 958.5 points in sixth place, while the NDC men's team totaled 592 points in 11
th.
A handful of Falcons turned in top-three finishes over the three-day event, beginning with
Courtney Ledbetter in third place in the 50-yard freestyle (24.76).
Sydney Grzincic added a third place showing in the 400-yard IM, touching the wall at 5:06.34, besting Lucy Lee of Oberlin by a half second.
Jordan Stump kept the momentum rolling for Notre Dame, securing a first-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:09.26), as it was an encore performance for the senior who also earned first place in the preliminaries.
Stump followed up tying for second place in the 200-yard IM, touching the wall at 2:17.14. The Seville, Ohio native grabbed another second place in the 200-yard breaststroke at 2:31.57.
On the men's side,
Luis Aguilar Delgado notched a pair of second-place showings in the 200-yard IM at 1:57.52, and 200-yard butterfly at 1:56.80.
The Notre Dame College swimming and diving team will be back in action on Friday Dec. 1 at 6 p.m. when the Falcons make the short drive across Cedar Road to battle John Carroll University.
