Falcons to enjoy home-court before traveling to nationally-ranked Glenville State

This Week: The Notre Dame College women's basketball team hosts Concord University on Wednesday Jan. 25 at 5:30 p.m. Next, the Falcons will travel to Glenville State University on Saturday Jan. 28 at 2 p.m.
 
Records: NDC begins the week at 5-13 (4-8 MEC), and tied for seventh place in the Mountain East Conference. Concord is 5-12 (3-9 MEC), and tied for ninth in the MEC. Lastly, GSU sits at 16-2 (10-2 MEC) and tied for first place in the MEC.
 
Coaches Corner: Imani Gordon is in her second season as the head coach of Notre Dame College, holding a career record of 20-27. Tesla Southcott is the head coach of Concord in her first season. Kim Stephens leads Glenville State in her seventh season with a career record of 158-21.
 
Rankings: Glenville State University checks in at No. 5 in the country according to the latest Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Poll.
 
Series History: NDC is 15-4 all-time against Concord University, dating back to their first meeting in 2013-14 and including the Mountain Lions' 77-64 victory back on Dec. 3. The Falcons are 2-19 all-time when facing Glenville State University, dating back to their first meeting in 2013-14 and including Pioneers' 116-58 victory back on Nov. 30.
 
Noting the Falcons: Last week, Notre Dame fell 86-53 on Wednesday on the road to Wheeling, before bouncing back to defeat Alderson Broaddus 73-67 at home. Freshman Noel Weathers tallied a double-double in the win with 14 points and career-high 12 rebounds.
 
Redshirt sophomore Alana Ellis headlines the NDC women's basketball team by scoring 17.1 points per game, ranking seventh inside the Mountain East Conference. The Twinsburg, Ohio native also leads the team in field goals made (111), field goals attempted (300), three-pointers made (29), three-pointers attempted (97) and free throws attempted (65).
 
Weathers is second on the team in scoring (9.5), as she leads the team in field goal percentage (48.0%), rebounding (6.7) and blocks (16). The freshman is tied for 12th in the MEC in rebounding and tied for third in the MEC in blocks per game (1.1).
 
Senior Marina Adachi offers a three-point threat for the Falcons, shooting 38.4% from behind the arc. Adachi also leads the team with 29.6 minutes played.
Junior Lizzie Imrie stuffs the stat 6.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. She leads the Falcons in assists and is second in rebounding.
 
As a team, Notre Dame averages 62.3 points per game on 37.3% shooting from the floor, 29.2% shooting from three and 68.1% shooting from the free throw line. The Falcons secure 33.1 rebounds per game (-9.3 margin), 10.3 assists per game, 8.7 steals per game and 2.6 blocks per game.
 
Noting the Mountain Lions: Last week, Concord faced steep competition in No. 20 Charleston and No. 2 Glenville State. CU fell on both occasions, 80-68 to UC and 78-69 to GSU.
 
Concord deploys an ultra-balanced scoring attack, featuring Abbie Smith (11.9 ppg), Jaisah Smith (11.1 ppg) and Maggie Guyn (10.3 ppg).
 
Guynn is the team's main shooter, posting team-highs in field goals attempted (153), three-pointers made (22) and three-point percentage (32.8%). A. Smith flashes the most made baskets (78) and best field goal percentage (53.8%) while J. Smith is tops in free throws made (57), attempted (71) and percentage (80.3%).
 
A.Smith also clocks in at 10th in the MEC with 7.1 rebounds per game, while J.Smith dishes out a team-high 2.0 assists per game.
 
As a unit, Concord scores 65.7 ppg on 38.0% shooting from the floor, 26.1% shooting from three and 73.0% from the free throw line. The Mountain Lions grab 38.6 rpg (+1.1 margin), 11.0 apg, 9.8 spg and 2.4 bpg.
 
Noting the Pioneers: Last week, Glenville State dropped a narrow contest 75-74 at West Virginia State University. Despite the loss, Breanna Campbell led the team with 22 points, seven rebounds and six assists. On Saturday, GSU bounced back with a 78-69 win over Concord. Campbell poured in a game-high 28 in the win.
 
The Pioneers run an up-tempo offense featuring three double-digit scorers in Campbell (15.9), Mickayla Perdue (15.2) and Mo Pruitt (10.1). Campbell and Perdue are seated eighth and 12th in the MEC in scoring.
 
In addition, Campbell posts team-highs in field goals made (105), field goal percentage (50.5%), free throws made (68) and attempted (95), assists (70) and steals (41). Campbell ranks fourth in the MEC in field goal percentage, tied for third in assists per game (3.9) and tied for third in steals per game (2.3).
 
Perdue is the team's top shooter, flashing 49 three-pointers, 137 three-pointers attempted, 35.8% three-point percentage and 231 shots taken.
 
The Pioneers average 87.8 ppg on 43.6% shooting from the floor, 31.4% shooting from three and 73.8% shooting from the free throw line. GSU adds 39.1 rpg (+0.3), 16.1 apg, 15.9 spg and 1.5 bpg. Among NCAA Division II, Glenville State ranks first in turnovers forced per game (28.7), second in points per game, second in turnover margin (+10.9), third in steals per game, third in three-point attempts per game (30.9), tied for fourth in three-pointers made per game (9.7), eighth in scoring margin (+20.0) and 23rd in assists per game.
