This Week:Â Notre Dame College wrestling will compete at the Regional Duals on Jan. 14, hosted by Tiffin University. Also competing at the duals will be Ashland University, Bluefield State University, Lake Erie College, Wheeling University and Tiffin. The matchups will be announced later, with the wrestling starting at 10 a.m.
Records:Â Notre Dame enters the weekend with a dual record of 3-3. The host, Tiffin is now 1-2, but the Dragons picked up an important 26-24 victory over Lake Erie, last weekend. Ashland sits at 4-8 and the Eagles are looking for their first dual win since the Glenville State Duals on Nov. 5. However, four of AU's opponents have been ranked in the top 25 poll. Lake Erie has a record of 4-4, but did pick up a victory against No. 18 Mercyhurst on Dec. 9. Bluefield State holds a 2-2 mark, losing to both Davis & Elkins and UNC Pembroke on Dec. 12. Wheeling is wrestling in its first dual meet of the year.

Coaches Corner:Â
Jordon Tague enters his first season at the helm of the NDC wrestling program. Boomer Fechko (Lake Erie) and Antonio Guerra (Tiffin) are both in their first season as head coach. Colt Sponseller has been with Ashland for three seasons and Shane Brown is the head coach at Wheeling.

Rankings:Â Notre Dame is receiving votes in the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division II poll. In that same poll, Ashland is ranked No. 24, while Lake Erie and Tiffin are both receiving votes. Individually, plenty of wrestlers are ranked. At 125 lbs., Brandon Mendoza (Tiffin) is No. 11. Christian Small (Lake Erie) is No. 4 at 141. At 157, Notre Dame's
Cale Hoskinson is No. 11. Drew Wiechers (Ashland) checks in at No. 12 at 165. At 184, Daniel Beemer (Ashland) is ranked No. 6. Ashland's Walker Uhl is No. 8 at 197. At heavyweight, NDC's
La'Ron Parks is ranked No. 11 and Tiffin's Clay Ours is No. 12.
Noting the Falcons:Â Notre Dame started competing again last weekend, following the holiday break, with a dual against Davis & Elkins. The Falcons had to come back for the 19-18 victory. At 141 lbs.,
Ramsy Mutschler won via tech fall to bring NDC within one, 6-5. D&E had two forfeit wins and NDC had one. With the final two weight classes remaining, Notre Dame trailed 18-11 before
Marvelous Rutledge (197) and
La'Ron Parks (285) each won with a major decision for a total of eight points and the team victory.
