This Week:Â Notre Dame College, the No. 5 seed, will stay in Wheeling, W.Va. after a slight upset of the No. 4 seed Concord University, 69-59, at the Mountain East Conference Tournament on Thursday night. The Falcons will head back to Wesbanco Arena on Saturday for a semifinal matchup with No. 1 Glenville State University, at noon.

MEC Tournament:Â Glenville State defeated Wheeling on Thursday by a score of 105-45. At 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, the two seed Charleston plays the three seed West Liberty in the other semifinal matchup. Also on Thursday, Charleston took down No. 7 seed West Virginia State, 82-58, and West Liberty defeated the six seed Fairmont State, 79-70, in the quarterfinals.

Records:Â Notre Dame has a record of 15-13 (13-9 MEC), while Glenville State now sits at 28-0 (22-0 MEC).

Coaches Corner:Â
Imani Gordon is in her first season as the head coach of Notre Dame College with a career record of 15-13. Gordon has been a member of the NDC coaching staff since the start of the 2017-18 season when she served as an assistant. Kim Stephens is now in her sixth season as the head coach of GSU. She has a record of 151-20.

Rankings:Â Glenville State is ranked No. 1 in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Poll. The Pioneers are also at the top of the Atlantic Region in the regional polls.

Series History:Â Notre Dame is 2-18 all-time against Glenville State since 2013-14. GSU took both games in the season series this year. This is the fourth time these two teams have met in the MEC Tournament.
Falcons In The Tournament:Â Notre Dame was able to get past Concord in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
Jada Marone posted 27 points in the 69-59 victory, which was a season-high for her and just one-point shy of tying her career-high in the MEC Tournament. She knocked down 13 free throws, which was second most all-time in MEC Tournament history.
Tamia Ridley posted her 12th double-double of the season, scoring 12 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. She now has 219 defensive rebounds on the season, the most by any player in program history.
The Falcons went 2-1 against Concord this season, with all three of the games separated by 10 points, or less. Notre Dame is looking for their first win over Glenville State this season. This will be just the third time that NDC has faced a nationally ranked opponent in the MEC Tournament. All three times have been against GSU.

Pioneers In The Tournament: Glenville State put a statement on the board by scoring 35 first quarter points and holding Wheeling to seven. GSU won by a final score of 105-45, taking 95 shots in the game, and shooting 44-percent from the field. It was the third time the Pioneers had beaten Wheeling this season, and the third time they had scored at least 105 points against the Cardinals. Zakiyah Winfield (23), Re'Shawna Stone (22) and Dazha Congleton (16) all scored at least 16 points and made at least eight shots from the field. Glenville State brought down 56 rebounds, with Abby Stoller leading the way with 13. The team stole the ball 20 times, with Skylar Davidson leading the squad with six takeaways in 12 minutes played.
