SWIM Sweeps Frostburg State

SOUTH EUCLID, OH -- The Falcons swim teams won their men's and women's meet on Saturday with final scores of 165-73 (women's), and 144-118 (men's).

The Notre Dame College Falcons women's swimming team started the meet off with a win in the 200 Medley relay of more then 10 seconds. The relay consisted of Emily Thomas, Jaybreona Foster, Alexis Torosian, and Hannah Parkman. Thomas continued her winning streak by adding two first place finishes in the women's 100 back and 200 back. Foster added in two more first place finishes in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke events, while adding a second place finish in the 400 IM. Torosian added first place finishes in the 100 and 200 fly and a second place finish in the 200 freestyle. Parkman added in three first place finishes in the 200 freestyle and the 400 IM.

Parkman teamed up with Brooke Dobrzanski, Alaina Wittum and Hannah Berlin to win the final relay of the meet. Wittum added a first place finish in the 50 free. Wittum finished second to teammate Dobrzanksi in the 100 free. Berlin once again brought in her own first place finishes with the 1,000 free and 500 free, continuing her hot streak as she has dropped only one in the two events this season. The women finished the meet ahead of Frostburg scoring 165 points leaving Frostburg 73 points.

The Falcon men started out the meet by scoring second in the 400 Medley Relay. Daniel Alvarez raced to a first place finish in the 1,000 freestyle. Alvarez also won the 500 free and brought home a third place finish in the 400 Individual Medley. Freshman Trey Parris added in his own first place finish taking home the gold in the 100 back.
Parris teamed up with Jonathan McIntosh, Jeremy Acosta and Roan Kelleher to win the last relay of the day. Kelleher added in two first place finishes in the 50 freestyle and the 100 freestyle.

Adonis Thomas pitched in a first place finish, in both  the men's 200 backstroke with a time of 2:01.39 and the men's 200 butterfly finishing in a time of 2:03.93. Evan Gyurke also had a first place finish in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:01.62.

The Falcons will take on both Wheeling Jesuit and Ursuline college at home this Friday, Mar. 5 at 5 p.m.
