Box Score SOUTH EUCLID, OH — The Notre Dame College Falcons finish the regular season with a 13-3 record with their 78-62 win over Alderson Broaddus University on Saturday afternoon.
The Falcons put a complete, team effort together on both sides of the ball, holding the Battlers to shoot under 40 percent from the field, and under 30 percent from beyond the arc, while forcing 18 turnovers. The AB shooting woes led to only one Battler finishing with double-figure points.
Conversely, Notre Dame, showed discipline on defense, earning 27 rebounds, snagging nine steals, and the team finished with only eight turnovers and ten fouls at the end of the game. Offensively, the Falcons were rolling. The team finished shooting from the field and beyond the arc with percentages above forty, and the Falcons shot nearly seventy percent from the free-throw line. Four NDC players finishing with double-figures in the game, with Jada Marone leading the charge as usual.
Marone finished with 19 points, and shot fifty percent from the field and beyond the arc. She also earned five rebounds, two steals, and a single assist in the final game of the regular season.
Marina Adachi added 17 points, nine of which came from beyond the arc, and she added two steals and a single block and assist. Theresa Parr scored 13 points and led the team on boards with eight. Amil Ali-Shakir had the highest shooting percentage individually on the afternoon, shooting 4-5 from the field and free throw line, and finishing with 12 points. Additionally, points came from the three seniors in the final game of their regular season careers at Notre Dame College.
"The team brought out great second-half energy", said Head Coach Lauren Macer. "I really loved seeing our seniors get out there and having some fun. They've worked incredibly hard for us throughout their careers here at Notre Dame College, and I love and appreciate them for all they've done to help get our program where we are. Finishing the regular season strong and taking care of the ball as a team to win on senior day is always a really special moment. It's time to work hard in practice and head to the conference tournament next week."
