SALEM, VA – The Notre Dame College wrestling team traveled down to Virginia on Sunday, Nov. 7 to begin their 2021-22 campaign. The Falcons competed at the Southeast Open which featured an array talent that stretched into the Division I ranks.

Jake Arnold claimed a victory over Emory & Henry College's Hayden Durussell in the Freshman/Sophomore 125lbs. Arnold won via major decision (10-1).
At Freshman/Sophomore 165,
Cale Hoskinson generated a 3-2 record on the day for the Falcons with wins over Matthew Cox of Emory & Henry, Conner Johnson, of Division I Virginia Military Institute, and Kevin Muschel, of Division I Campbell. Hoskinson defeated Cox by fall (0:54), he bested Johnson via decision (2-0) and reigned supreme over Muschel by major decision (12-3).
Michael Viramontes claimed a victory in the heavyweight open division by taking down Emory & Henry's Thomas Roberts by decision (7-0).
Notre Dame College will be back in action this Sunday, Nov. 14 as the Falcons travel to Tiffin, Ohio to take part in the Tiffin Open.
