SOUTH EUCLID, OH – The Notre Dame College volleyball team (15-12, 6-6 MEC) rounded out their busy week at home when Glenville State College (2-15, 0-11 MEC) entered Murphy Gymnasium on Friday evening. NDC jumped out to an early lead and never looked back en route to a 3-0 sweep of the Pioneers.
The first set was all Notre Dame College as NDC jumped out to leads of 5-0, 11-2 and 21-11. The Falcons polished off a clean first set, 25-12. The second set offered a dogfight out of Glenville State as the two teams wrestled to 15-15 after four straight Pioneer points. Notre Dame would regain control by rattling off ten of the last 12 points in the set to win 25-17. In the final set, the two teams went back and forth the entire time except when NDC made a short four point run from 8-8 to 12-8. That four-point run would be the difference maker in the third set which the Falcons claimed 25-20. The win marks the second straight win for Notre Dame in the last 24 hours.
After the game, senior
Katie Richardson was asked about the back-to-back wins and the middle blocker had this to say, "It's really important because we want to get a good seed in the [MEC] tournament. We wanted to put ourselves in a good position, especially with these two wins over the South Division. It was really important for us."
On offense,
Kaye Dregalla led NDC for the second straight game with a team-high nine kills, while
Blaire Barr totaled eight on 36.8% hitting. Six other Falcons tallied kills to a team total of 25 kills (.146 hit percentage). In addition,

On defense,
Amelia Kaeberlein continued to be the leader in the back line with 19 digs, the only Falcon in double figures. NDC saw ten other Falcons record digs in a balance defensive game which totaled 52 as a team. At the net,
Carly Emerson posted a team and season-high three blocks on the evening, followed by
Carli Derda,
Kelsie Palmer,
Samantha Telisman, Dregalla and Barr who all had one block each to total five as a team.
"We are so proud of how the girls maintained a high level of competitive enthusiasm and minimized offensive errors to gain two much-needed wins this week," said co-head coach
Hannah Watson.
Notre Dame College will be back in action on Tuesday Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. when NDC hits the road to face Fairmont State in the second meeting between the two teams this season. FSU claimed round one in South Euclid on Oct. 1, 3-0.
