NDC Women's Basketball Earns First Dub of '21

Box Score WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. --  Notre Dame's Jada Marone poured in 35 points and the Falcons broke away from West Liberty late to claim an 83-71 win over the 'Toppers at the ASRC. 

The Falcons opened the game with a layup by Marone, and went on a seven-point run to open the game. Tie scores and lead changes were the theme tonight, as the Falcons came back to tie seven times, and took the lead back from the 'Toppers five times. The game featured eleven ties and ten lead changes altogether.

Trailing by one with 7:47 left in the game, Notre Dame went on a 17-2 run over the next 4:46 to seize control of the game. NDC was 7-for-10 from the field during the spurt and Marone had nine points to spark the Falcons. 

Marone finished 12-of-23 from the field and 10-of-11 from the free throw line for her final tally. Marina Adachi added 17 points for NDC. 

"It was good to get out back out there and play a game today", said head coach Lauren Macer. "I am so proud of the team for battling from start to finish. It was a good win against a good team. We are focused on working hard in each game we play".

The Falcons return to South Euclid to defend Murphy Gymnasium on Sunday (Jan. 10) at 2 p.m. Although no spectators will be allowed, you can follow the Falcons on MECTV and on our social media platforms (@NDCfalcons).
