This Week: Notre Dame College women's basketball hosts the University of Charleston on February 19, at 5:30 p.m. before traveling to West Virginia State University for a 2 p.m. matchup on February 22.
Records: Notre Dame holds a record of 21-3, overall, with a 15-3 MEC record, following two wins last week. Charleston also has a conference record of 15-3, but they are 20-4, overall. WVSU comes into the week at 9-15 (7-11 MEC).
Coaches Corner:Â Lauren Macer is in her third season as head coach of the NDC women's basketball program. She has an overall record of 59-26 and has an MEC record of 44-18. Becky Burke is in her second season as head coach at UC and she has a record of 45-11 with a 33-7 MEC mark. Charles Marshall is in his fourth season as head coach at West Virginia State. Last season, he led the Yellow Jackets to an 8-22 (6-16 MEC) record.
Rankings: None of these teams are ranked in the WBCA Coaches Poll. Notre Dame is ranked third in the Atlantic Region and Charleston is ninth, according to the NCAA Division II Regional Rankings.
Series History: Notre Dame holds an all-time record of 9-6 against Charleston, which includes a 79-76 win on January 18. With both teams tied for second place in the MEC standings, that NDC win is currently the tie-breaker. NDC is 10-4 against West Virginia State since the 2013-14 season. On January 15, Notre Dame beat the Yellow Jackets by a score of 95-85. WVSU will play at Urbana University, on Wednesday, prior to playing the Falcons.
